Today in whenua we did another activity for the summer learning journey. The hardest thing was trying to do it on paper. at first, I did it on paper and it was not good so I did it on my Chromebook and that was a lot easy for me. The funniest thing was trying to do it on paper but I wasn't good at it, and it also took a long time to for me to do one drawing on paper and it was bad that's why I did it on my Chromebook and it was better.

Today we did activity 2 of the summer learning journey. I think that this was really hard the hardest was trying to think what to write it took so long. what the funniest thing was going the comic thing.

Art Coloring book

To in whenua, we did our first activity of the summer learning journey it was an art one it was really easy and fun the best thing was trying to make it colourful. I think this one that I did was the best so that's why I posted this instead of the other ones that I did. The hardest thing was of the patterns to do for my art. It was hard because I had lots in mind. You should really try this out it is really fun, its called Art Coloring book.

 

Research

 

Today we tried to find the hottest and coldest countries in the world on average. The hardest thing was trying to find the photos for the hottest place and coldest places. I learnt that Burkina Faso is the hottest country in the world on average.

Animal Town

 Once there was a group of animals going on a camping trip they went on a walk and one group got lost. Lion dropped the map and everyone started to chase the map but the wind was to strong and the map got lost. The animals started to get scared, they started to retrace their steps but they couldn't because they chased the map and got lost. They were stuck in the forest.

They started to yell at lion because he dropped the map and some people tried to get help by yelling into the forest. After they stopped yelling at lion they started to calm down and started to find food zebra found a river and everyone chased to it to try and get food and water. They got some food and started to eat it. After they ate they started walking and hopped that they will found the rest of the people in the camp. Then suddenly and group of nasty hungry animals come and they started to fight, lion was the last one standing all his friends were dead the rest of the nasty animals charged at lion but lion was faster and lion run away with scratches on him and somehow he found help and they helped lion and lion told them that he was the last one standing.

Task five T-shaped literacy

 

Today we did task five of T-shaped literacy. This is what it said Your message could be about the way we are influencing the environment. I did it about that we should stop littering if we keep littering it could kill everything.

Today the whole class did a video to teach someone how do play a sport I chose to do my sport about basketball. The hardest thing was trying to get the videos on my google drive so I can put it on wevideo. The best thing was making the video because we had the whole hall to are selves.

How do we use the arts to communicate?

 

Today we did task 4 of or T-shaped Literacy. This is about if we can tell what the paintings mean. The hardest one was slide 4 I was trying to see if I know what the painting means I was stuck on that one for a long time but I fingered it out.

Task 2 Graffiti

 

Today we did task 2 of our activity and this is about should the people that did Graffiti in Christchurch be arrested I think that they should not because they are making art that people like and it is colourful and it brings hope to people that lost something in the earthquake. The hardest thing was thinking about the ideas of what do write.

Today we are doing a question of a quiz that we did. The question was why is the Great Barrier Reef dying.

The hardest bit was finding a photo for the slide,  he photo that we had was good because it said before the great barrier Reef was dying and after it was dying. Go check Dion's blog he worked with me with this blog post.

How to play Tennis

 Tennis has been around since 1873 and was introduced by Major Walter Clapton.

Time.

Tennis can go for a long time. When the pro players play tennis it goes for hours. Sometimes it can go for 5 hours.

How many people you need

For tennis, you can play singles: that is when you play one person. But you can also play doubles: that's when you have a partner and you vs two people.

How to play

To start the game you need to serve. Serving is when you throw the ball up and hit it in the service line. Then the other player hits it back and the game starts.

Tips

There are different types of styles to hit the ball. You can do topspin and slice. Topspin is where you hit the ball and it spins forward and when you do a slice it spins backwards.

Score 

When you serve and get the point you say 15-love then when the other person gets the point you say 15 all. when you get another point you say 30-15. The scores go like 15 love, 30 love and 40 love. If you get the next point you win the game and there are 6 games in the hole game. If you get up to 40 all in singles its called juice and if it singles its long juice and if its doubles its short juice. If its doubles and you are in juice and you win the next point you win that game. If its doubles and it's singles and you win the point it is vantage to sever and if you get the next point you win the game. But if the other person gets the point snd you are serving you say vantage to reserve.

Today we are teaching people how to play different sport. Some people are doing league, rugby and soccer. Lots of sport but I am doing mine about Tennis the hardest was bit was writing it into my Chromebook because my back hurts when I lean forward.

Today we had to write about self-managing, to write about what it means. The hardest thing was thinking about what to write about what does it look like. We didn't have that much time to do it because I was at tech so we only had like half an hour to do it.

Today we did a quiz and we had to write something about one of the answers I did mine about Valerie Adams. we didn't have that much time to do it we only had like half an hour so it was a rush do finish it.

Alfred Nobel

 

Today we did a Kahoot and one of the questions was about Alfred Nobel. So the teacher told us to write about it and put links in it. The hardest bit was trying to find the facts and doing the link. Alfred Nobel's birthday is today so happy birthday to him.

Today we had to talk about what makes good sportsmanship, the easiest thing about this was thinking about what makes a good sportsmanship, and the hardest thing is probably the caption which is what I am writing right now.

Today we had to write about Lake Ohau fire and the teacher said that you can make a newspaper report or a video about Lake Ohau fire. The hardest bit was trying to find the facts, I learnt that the fire destroyed 5500 hectares of land.

Camp recont

 Camp

Day 1

For camp, we went to Bridge Valley. in the car was Kohen, Harrison, Dion, me and mat which is Harrison's dad. He is really nice he bought us food and drinks. It took 4 hours to get there. When we got there it was 11 and everyone was tired. We sat on the court with our bags. we got send to are cabins, and in our cabins was Harlem, Dion, Keil, Aaron, Gus and Keils dad. I was on the bottom bunk and Keil was above me.

One of my favourite activity was archery and I was the only one in my activity group to hit a bullseye. And another favourite activity of mine was abseiling at first it is scary but then you trust the rope and do it, But I couldn't keep my feet flat on the wall and I slipped and hit my knee. I didn't even know that there was a scratch on my knee until I finished abseiling.

We had tea in a huge hall there was lots of food but some nights there was some bad food and some good food. One time night we had nachos and that was yum but I didn't like eating my greens.

When we had to go to bed Gus was talking all night and Harlem and Gus snored all night and one night i only got like 5 hours of sleep

Day 2

One activity we had to walk on a rope to the other side. this activity had a lot of teamwork we had to balance our team on a big piece of wood and it was hard.

We had free time so I explored the place there was a huge playground and pond and to slides went into the pond. The whole place is huge all the activities are there, and I think that this was the best camp in the school.

Day 3

Today our activity group did kayaking I didn't have my togs on so I only went kayaking for a little bit. I was lucky because Slade tried to tip everyone's kayaks over

Next we did top team there were 4 little activities, the first or was that we had to walk on a barrel but there is two people next to you to help you. I fell 2 times we thought that it was the first team for everyone to do it, but it was how many times you do it in 2 minutes. The next activity was we had a tube with holes in it and 3 people had to run to the lake and get a bucket of water then go back and put it in the tube. our team won that round, nexted out team had a huge skee and we had to go like 4 metres, our team was not that good at it, everyone was like "LEFT-RIGHT" but some people were confused and we lost. And our last activity was where we had 3 planks of wood and we had to make a bridge past a trash can and back I was last to go so I had to take he last plank and pass it to the front. There was a rule that if you put our plank over there's they can't take it so I had to be careful. I was still on the plank and they took it so i think that we should have won because I think that they cheated.

Day 4

The last day we were supposed to do a thing called iron man it is where we had to do all the activities. I think that we are lucky because we didn't do it we just went home. we went home at 12 and in the time that we had, we played a game. I forgot what it was called it was something like fresh. Q thought us about the game the rules are hard. There are two teams and there is a line that the teams are behind, and when the first person goes over the line they are the freshes on the field, but when someone else goes on the field they are the fresher than the other person that is on the field, and when you get tagged you go to the other side on the cone and you put your foot on the cone and you can make a line to your side of the felid. Japan is a smaal country off main land Asia with millions of people. Japan is made upof thousands of islands but the 5 main islands in japan have most of the population

Early japanese culture was influeced by china because they belived some chinese practices were superiroir to theirs.

The traditional family unit in japan is called "kazoku"  comprising of a mother, father and their children. traditionally, kazoku often lives with their elderly parents. however, more modern arrangemmeants. outside world.

The national language is japanese which is the primary spoken language across the country. Old japanese, or kanbun originat from china and the earliest japanese text, the kojik. was written primarily in ancient chinese characters. modern japanese developed during the edo period, between 1603 and 1868.

The city hashosted multiple international events including the 1964 summer  Qlympics and three G7 summits.

There are two main  religions in japan shinto and Buddhism. Shinto is a japanese religion, while Buddhism was imported in the 6th century from china.

Tokyo is japan's capital and the worlds most populous metropoils. it is also one of japan's 47 prefectures, consisting of 23 central city wards and multiple cities towns and  villages west of the city center. The l2u and ogasawaral island are also part tokyo.

Tokyo offers a seemingly unlimited choise od shopping,entertainment culture and dining to its visitors. The city's history can be appreciated in district such as asakusa and in many excellent museums, to common perception , tokyo also offers a number of attractive green spaces in the city center and within relatively short train rides at outskirts.

A small castle town in the 16th century, edo beacame japan's political center in 1603 when tokugawa leyasu established his feudal edo had grown into one of the world's most populous cities. Today for literacy i read the back of the book of Under the mountain. I said what I think the story was about and I read about the writer at the front of the book, and I put what I think will happen in the story.

We did a test on the creek, our group did water clarity, water flow and other experiments. We went in the water and we measured the creek, and we did an experiment. We had a bucket and the teacher cut off the bottom of the bucket and put plastic so we can see what's in the water.

Results of the experiment.

The water flow experiment was that we put an orange in the creek and timed how long it took to get to maker 1 to maker 10 and that is 100 meters and the time was 13 minutes and 11 seconds that was a long time it got stuck a lot of times.

Equipment  

The equipment for water depth was tape measure, metre ruler and a sharpie witch was a pencil. The equipment for streambed composition was bathyscope which is a buket the has plastic at the bottom so you can see underneath, and we had a sharpie which was a pencil. Another piece of experiment was Gravel vs sediment and the equipment was gravimeter, sieve, container and a sharpie which was a pencil.

Conclusion

I think that our creek is healthy because animals live there and they are healthy.

This week our class went to our creek and checked if it was healthy we did experiment on the creek.

Book Review of olden days

Olden days

This book is about a principal and he gets kidnapped by time travellers. The principal's name is Mr Potts. When the time travellers got Mr Potts they stoned him with their stun gun that's what aliens do in movies. When Mr Potts was out of the spaceship the school had an assembly and Mr Potts said that he got kidnapped. But the school did not believe him and they laughed at Mr Potts. One day the kidnappers came to the school and played on the playground with the school students. The time travellers showed the students that they can fly.

The seven maidens of Kiowa

This is what happened. 

They climbed onto a magical rock then begged the sky to save them from the bear. The rock pushed them to the sky to be protected by the Great Spirit.

The Seven Maidens are the Kiowa version of the Pleiades.

weekly sport

At the moment there is no sport but when it comes but I will be doing it. This is about one of my west coast tennis tournaments.
 I went to Blenheim for a tennis tournament it was really fun I was there for 2 days I played my first game and won 6 3  then my next game was in 1 hour my dad was there my dad made me a lunch box so I can have some food. The 2nd game l lost 4 6 that game was a hard game, I had one more game to play I had lunch then I played my 3rd game that game was the hardest I won 6 2 even that I won 6 2 it was the hardest game. That night me and my dad had burger king for tea then we went to a hotel to stay. The next day my first game was at 7.am so I got up at 6.am  my dad made me lunch and I packed everything up then we went to the tennis courts I played my first game I won 6 3  Theni had a 2 hour break I hat 1 more game to play then I could go home I played the next game and lost 6 2 this person was the top seed.

Letter to past self

We had a lockdown because of COVID 19 I stayed home and played games with my family we made up a thing called lockdown games so we play a lot of games and we get electronics time so we can go on my ps4 and stuff I watched the news every day when it said that we are going down to level 2 I was happy because I get to go to school and see my friends. lockdown games

The lockdown games is a thing that we do at my house we do activities like table tennis and monopoly. If you win you get electronic time. we did 8 games there were table tennis, monopoly, plank, connect four, holding breath, Bball shots, blind food tasting and makeup. My sister wanted to do that I didn't wont to do it but I thought I still get electronic time so I did it. So for the bball we have 5 shots and if we get one in you get 1 hour and if you get all them in you get 5 hours. That one was my favourite, I got four shots in the same with Jemma she got to shoot up closer because she doesn't play. In total, I got 8 and a half hours and Jemma got ten hours so we got a lot of time.

Blog contract DEAW

25th of May 2020 we were going on a cruise but we are in lock down so we can go now. What I want to do on the cruise if we go when lock down is finished. What I want to do when lock down is finished, my mum is going to give me a gold pass. so we get to play laser tag and other fun stuff but the best one for me would be the drinks pass. I think that that would be the best one. I would probably follow Jemma because mum and dad would be doing other stuff and the cruise ship is massive so I would be following Jemma but I would probably be distracted and go somewhere. My mum told me that there is a 5 year old place and a ten year old place and a 15 to 11 year old place and there is were the ps3s are i have never played on a ps3 before i play on a ps4 so when i go on the cruise ship i want to see what the ps3 looks like. What I want to do when lock down is finished.

How to add using compensation

How to add using compensation take the numbers 78+24 add 2 to 78 to make it 80 because it is easier to add something ending with a 0 so 80+24=104 but we added 2 on to 78 so we take away 2 from 104 which makes it 102.

Part 2 of the dinorusor

So going back to part one where he drowned but somehow he came back to life as a professional basketball player, his name was Kobe Bryant and he had to play a game against Stephen Curry and it was a one vs one. And at the start, it was completely silent. Kobe won from the toss and wanted to start with the ball as he picked up the ball he ran up to dunk and he dunked on Stephen curry and scored. The score is 1-0 to Kobe Stephen Curry gets the ball and goes straight for a fadeaway and sunk it so now the score is 1-1 and it's first to 5. Its kobes turn with the ball and then Stephen curry steals the ball and goes for a dunk and out of nowhere Kobe blocks him hard now Kobe has the ball and goes for a layup and gets the point [2-1] to Kobe, Curry get the ball and waits for a bit and goes for a fake shot and then goes for a layup and missed Kobe then grabbed the ball and goes back to the line but Curry got sent to the sin bin and then someone else had to play for him but no one wanted to because they were versing Kobe and he’s the best. But there was someone new and he was bad and he said he would play so he went out on the court. The new dude got the ball and then Kobe stole the ball straight off him. So at this point Kobe has the ball and the new dude is on defence and he feels something going up against his neck and it bit him and he said to himself “that really strange” and he felt a lot stronger and better and from that bit that he got. He keeps stealing the ball of Kobe and he keeps doing the same thing that Stephen Curry because Stephen curry got sent off to the sin bin so he gave the new guy the same strength and it worked so he is as good as Stephen Curry. Kobe gets the ball and goes to the other end of the court and shoots and gets the win.

part 1 of the dinosaur story

Once upon a time there was a dinosaur that was in the forest and there was a big river and he couldn't get past the big river. So he sang a song can't go under it can't go around it we’ll have to go through it but the river was too strong. So he went to find something to get over so he got a log but it got swept away. So he swam down the river to get it but the river was too quick so he gave up. And started to head back to his campsite and since the river had two ways he had no idea where to go. So he went left and he got swept right to the end of the river because he jumped in but his campsite was around the middle somewhere. But he had to cross the river and he no’s that he couldn't cross the river then and now it is high tide and it had already gone up one meter so he had to camp for two whole days so head off to build a hut for 2 whole days. After two whole days, the river had still not gone down so he was pretty sure the log was long gone after a couple days. So now he was wondering if he should go through the river but it could risk his life but if he didn't he would die by starvation but he still went for it. But sadly he drowned.

Tanalizing Transformations

Today we did Tanalizing. Transformations. It was really hard to do this but then I got the hang of it and finished it the first couple of slides were easy the order of symmetry and the lines of symmetry. For the reflection, we had to draw the reflection on are books and here are some photos.  Then we had to do the rotation, we coloured in the blue one and that is 90 degrees and the green one is 180 degrees and for the spare same thing with the blue but the green is 270 degrees. then the transformation that was hard I don't know how to explain it but you and read the words on the slide. WALT to summarise. Today we did the word of the week. Today's word is vast. I thought that it meant the sea but it means huge, big space and other stuff. The hardest bit was typing the synonyms because if I don't know how to spell I have to keep switching to see how to spell the word.
